Greece 2025
I swear I count my life away in days until my next Greek trip. The minute I step off the plane from Greece, I’m already thinking about where to go next! New destination? Familiar spots? Family time or island hopping? The questions just keep coming. What’s wrong with me?
Last year was a whirlwind of excitement - my daughter’s wedding in the gorgeous Sifnos kicked off the trip and the first half of my time there was all about the lead up and celebrating the wedding. The second half? It was filled with Patra, Mykonos, Amorgos, and Naxos, each place so special that they deserve their own posts.
Speaking of Patra, I’ll have to share all about the incredible Neo-Classical hotel we stayed in. For Mykonos? Well, you know how much I adore that island. Last year’s stay was brief, but it left me craving more. Amorgos was picturesque and Naxos? That island stole my heart this time round. So much so that I’m going back this year!
Now, let’s talk about the upcoming trip. It's not long, but trust me, we’re packing it in!
Here’s what’s on:
First stop: Thessaloniki
I can’t wait to return! Last year, I had only a quick day trip, racing around to check the wedding flowers (my cousins did the flowers and I had to make sure everything was perfect). This time, we’re staying a few days to visit family, head out to my village and just enjoy being home. Honestly, there’s nothing like it.
Next: Naxos
Straight after Thessaloniki, we’re off to Naxos. I’m super excited to spend a few nights there, especially since last year, we were mostly just unwinding after wedding. This time, I have a special Naxos guide in the planning so heaps of places to see so I can add to the guides. Of course, it goes with out saying, staying a dreamy new place.
Then: Milos
Milos holds a special place in my heart. We’ve been there a few times, but this year, we’re staying a few extra days to really dive into the island’s food scene and activities. I can already taste the delicious watermelon pita and imagine the stunning sunsets.
New Island: Syros
This is the new island for me this year, Syros! I've heard so much about its charming Italianate beauty and the stunning neo-classical architecture. I can’t wait to see it all for myself, I just know it’s going to be amazing.
Last but definitely not least: Athens – My Eternal Love
I could easily spend months in Athens, but this time, it’ll be just a few days. Still, I’m buzzing with excitement, so many new restaurants, bars and hidden gems to discover. The anticipation is absolutely killing me! We have managed to have a few days in Glyfada, to check out that scene as well.
Oh and if there’s time (fingers crossed!), I’m hoping to sneak in a visit to Koufonisia, Hydra, and Kimolos. How amazing would that be?
In the meantime, I’ll be posting details of my trip from last year, the places, the moments and the unforgettable memories. So, keep an eye out for all the stories, photos and insider tips from my previous Greek adventure as I count down the days to this next one. Let’s get ready for another round of Greek magic!
