Γειά σας,

She Knows Greece came from a place of love.

I was born in Greece. I grew up there. It's where my roots are and where I feel most like myself. There's a magnetic pull every time I go back that I've never quite been able to explain. Like I'm meant to be there.

In Greek, Greece is female. η Ελλάδα. She. That feels right to me because Greece has always felt like a woman. She's warm, complex, beautiful and impossible to forget once she's got you.

I'm an interior designer which means I move through the world noticing the beauty in things. The light at a certain hour. The way a room is put together. A table set simply but beautifully. She influences my design, my home, the way I see everything.

When I travel I share everything on my social media and every time without fail I wake up to hundreds of messages. Where did you stay. Where did you eat. What would you do differently.

Most of the information out there is written for a different kind of traveller. Still ticking boxes, moving fast, trying to see everything at once. But that's not where we are anymore. We've done the rushing. Now we want to arrive somewhere and actually feel it. Fewer things done better.

She Knows Greece is for the woman who wants to do Greece properly. Who wants to know the taverna that doesn't have an Instagram page but will serve her the best meal of her trip. Who cares where she sleeps and how the light falls in the morning. Who wants to feel like she's been let in on something rather than handed a list.

Nothing here is sponsored. Every recommendation has been paid for and lived in personally by me and my husband JK who is just as obsessive about finding beautiful places as I am.
