Bars & after dark
Sifnos might not be the first island that comes to mind when you think of partying and honestly, that’s part of its charm. No big beach clubs, no blaring speakers - but don’t think that there is night life in Sifnos. When the sun goes down, there’s still plenty happening here. Is it crazy? No. But it’s more about quality than quantity.
Whether you’re after a crisp glass of wine on a quiet verandah, a proper cocktail in a tucked-away bar or a lively spot with music and a bit of buzz, there are some brilliant places to spend your evenings — and they each have their own kind of magic.
Kavos Sunrise (The Cuban Bar) – Kastro
This little bar along the side of Kastro, is one of those places you don’t forget. The owner, Kostas, travelled to Cuba during his student years, lived there for a while and brought a piece of that spirit back to Sifnos - and somehow, it just works.
You’ll find Che memorabilia all over the walls and guests scribble their names, messages and memories wherever there’s space on the walls - it’s that kind of place. There’s a mountain of empty Havana Club bottles behind the bar, rum and beer are the only things on the menu and the vibe is nothing short of brilliant.
We’ve perched on the steps and the ledge outside with drinks in hand, music rolling out into the night and views of the beach and Cantina in the background. It’s the kind of bar that becomes a little part of your Sifnos story.
Loggia Wine Bar – Kastro
Loggia is a really cool spot. It’s set up on the edge of Kastro with views that hit just right at dusk and the wine list is full of interesting and amazing Greek picks. It’s perfect if you’re in the mood for a slower evening - just a glass of something good, some nibbles and a beautiful place to unwind. I love sitting on the ledge here you feel like you are on top of the world, the white step background, the steps, it’s pretty good (come here during the day for some amazing all white photos also). A must when visiting Sifnos here for a pre-dinner drink or as a great way to end the night. I would definitely suggest booking a spot during peak times.
Cosi – Apollonia
If you’re in the mood for something a little more lively, Cosi is a great option. Right in the heart of the Apollonia’s action, it’s buzzy, always has a good crowd and does solid cocktails. t’s the kind of place you end up staying longer than you planned — start with a drink, enjoy the music and see where the night goes. And if you want a more quiet vibe, there is the pretty roof top for a more chill vibe.
Botzi 93 – Apollonia
Botzi has a great local atmosphere. It’s tucked into a quieter corner just off the main path in Apollonia and has that friendly, been-around-forever energy that makes you feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Drinks are great, cocktails, beers, the lot, and there’s always a good mix of locals and tourists. Also the music’s just right!
Lost Bay – Platis Gialos
We came here with friends the day before my daughter’s wedding, after our welcome lunch and it turned into one of those quiet, perfect moments I’ll never forget. The light was soft, the drinks were flowing and we were just sitting there, friends from the other side of the world, barefoot in the sand, taking it all in. It felt like the calm before the celebrations - and I’ll always hold onto that evening.
Lost Bay is set right on the beach in Platis Gialos and you can’t beat the location. Proper cocktails, that laid-back island energy and the most beautiful view of the Aegean right in front of you. It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard - you come for a drink and end up staying because everything about it just feels good. If you’re looking for a drink with a view (and maybe a little moment of magic), this is it.
