Greece 2026: My Full Itinerary and What I Am Planning for Each Island

Greece 2026 is booked and I cannot wait. This year is a big one. I leave in July for four weeks and the itinerary covers five destinations, two of which will result in new guides. Here is exactly where I am going and what I am planning for each stop.

Athens

I always start with Athens and this year Athens is giving me a lot to work with. I have a list of over 120 new places to try. Restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and neighbourhood spots that have opened or come onto my radar since the last guide update. It is already in a spreadsheet, naturally. There is so much new content that I am seriously considering splitting the Athens guide into a Part 1 and Part 2. Watch this space.

In the meantime the current Athens guide is fully updated and ready for anyone planning a trip this year. It covers everything I know and love about the city including the neighbourhoods, the restaurants worth booking in advance and the places most people walk straight past.

Paros

The Paros guide has been the most requested guide since I launched SKG and it is finally happening. I know Paros deeply. I have been many times and I feel confident writing about it with the same level of detail I bring to every guide. I am spending proper time there this trip to make sure it is done right. And it will be the first time I will be travelling solo on the islands. If Paros is on your radar the guide will be ready later this year.

If you want to be the first to know when the Paros guide is ready, jump on the list below.

Koufonisia

JK and I did a day trip to Koufonisia from Naxos last year and we both fell completely in love with it. Quaint, pretty and so authentic. I was pleasantly surprised. We knew immediately we had to go back for longer so this year we are. I cannot wait to spend proper time there and share everything I find.

Mykonos

We skipped Mykonos last year and that was totally not my decision. I have a complicated relationship with this island that I am honestly still trying to understand. We are more than making up for it this year. I am still deciding on a guide as there is so much Mykonos content out there already but I genuinely believe there is a version of Mykonos beyond the glitz and glamour that is worth writing about. I will see how I feel when I get there. But I seriously can’t wait.

Tinos

Tinos is an island I have visited many times but always as a day trip, never properly. This year I am staying and spending real time there. The food scene is incredible and the whole island is very much on the rise, the villages are beautiful and there is a personal reason I always return. The Panagia Evangelistria is one of the most significant churches in Greece and this year I am finally going to the Sunday service, something that has been on my list for a long time. I cannot wait.

I will be sharing everything as it unfolds, the planning, the research and the full picture when I get back. The best place to follow along is the monthly newsletter. If you are not already on the list, join below.
